The combined notional of one user's Basic and Accelerated funded accounts available for trading is capped at **$400,000**.\n\nTurbo accounts have a separate cap of **$100,000**. The two caps are independent: the amount used on Basic and Accelerated accounts does not reduce the Turbo cap, and vice versa.\n\n## How the cap is counted\n\nThe cap is calculated from the starting balances of active funded accounts. Growth in balance from trading profit has no effect on it.\n\n| Counted | Not counted |\n|---|---|\n| Active Basic funded accounts available for trading | Turbo accounts — they have a separate cap, see below |\n| Active Accelerated funded accounts available for trading | Demo accounts |\n| | Failed and cancelled accounts |\n| | Paused accounts |\n\n{% hint style=\"info\" %}\nA restored funded account counts towards the cap at its original starting balance, not at the restoration balance. This is covered on the [Funded Account Restoration](Funded_Account_Restoration.md) page.\n{% endhint %}\n\nValid combinations include: two accounts of $200,000; four of $100,000; one $200,000 plus two of $100,000; one $200,000, one $100,000 and two of $50,000.\n\n## What happens when an account reaches funded\n\nWhen the next account moves to the funded stage, the platform adds its notional to the current combined total and checks the result.\n\n| Check result | What happens |\n|---|---|\n| The total does not exceed $400,000 | Trading on the account is available immediately. Exactly $400,000 is allowed: with $300,000 in active accounts, a new $100,000 account goes through |\n| The total exceeds $400,000 | The account still moves to funded, but trading is blocked and the account is marked \"Paused\". With $400,000 already active, a new $10,000 account reaches funded already paused |\n\nIf several accounts reach funded at almost the same moment, the one processed first becomes available for trading. A paused account is not lost — it waits for room to free up within the cap.\n\n## The Turbo account cap\n\nTurbo accounts have a separate combined notional cap of **$100,000**.\n\nIt is not linked to the $400,000 cap for Basic and Accelerated: a trader can hold $400,000 of active notional on Basic and Accelerated funded accounts and another $100,000 on Turbo accounts at the same time. Neither cap reduces the other.\n\nThe cap is counted from the starting balances of active Turbo accounts available for trading. Changes in trading balance from profit or loss do not affect it.\n\n| Counted | Not counted |\n|---|---|\n| Active Turbo accounts available for trading | Paused and archived Turbo accounts |\n| | Closed and failed accounts |\n| | Demo accounts |\n| | Tournament accounts |\n\nA single Turbo account ranges from $5,000 to $100,000 in notional. The cap fits, for example, one $100,000 account, two of $50,000, or one $50,000 plus two of $25,000.\n\n### Check when a new Turbo account is received\n\nA Turbo account opens directly at the funded stage, so the cap is checked right after the account is purchased or issued — not on the move to funded, as with Basic and Accelerated.\n\n| Check result | What happens |\n|---|---|\n| The total does not exceed $100,000 | Trading on the account is available immediately |\n| The total exceeds $100,000 | The account is created successfully but is marked \"Paused\". Trading stays unavailable until enough room frees up within the Turbo cap |\n\nThe whole account is paused: it is not possible to use only the remaining free part of the cap.\n\n<details>\n\n<summary>Example: a new account does not fit within the cap</summary>\n\nA trader has $75,000 in active Turbo accounts and receives a new $50,000 account. There is $25,000 of free room in the cap, so the whole new account is paused. Trading $25,000 of its notional is not possible.\n\nThe paused account waits until one of the active Turbo accounts closes and frees up the required amount.\n\n</details>\n\n## A paused account\n\nThe pause rules are the same for both caps. An account marked \"Funded | Paused\" stays fully visible and takes up no room in either the $400,000 cap or the $100,000 Turbo cap.\n\n| Available | Blocked |\n|---|---|\n| Account progress and trading balance | Opening and increasing positions |\n| Analytics | Creating limit orders |\n| Certificates | |\n\nIn the terminal the Long and Short buttons are inactive and a notice explains why. The trading day counter does not advance while an account is paused: after activation it resumes from the day of activation. On the dashboard the account carries a block explaining the rule.\n\n## Activating an account\n\nThe \"Activate\" button is available only if the current combined notional, together with this account's notional, fits within the cap: $400,000 for Basic and Accelerated accounts, $100,000 for Turbo. The cap is recalculated when the button is pressed.\n\n* Closing any funded account recalculates the cap and frees up room within it. Each account frees room in its own cap: a closed Turbo account in the Turbo cap, a closed Basic or Accelerated account in the general one.\n* If several accounts are paused, the trader chooses which one to activate first.\n* The platform sends notifications both when an account is paused and when it is successfully activated.\n\n{% hint style=\"info\" %}\nFunded accounts that existed when the rule was introduced are not blocked and continue trading as normal. Their notionals are still counted towards the cap for every subsequent move to funded.\n{% endhint %}\n\nThe general rules of the funded stage — drawdown limits, profit days and the conditions for account closure — are on the [Challenge & Trading Rules](Participation_Requirements.md) page.\n","text":"Upscale lets traders scale by completing several challenges and holding several funded accounts at once.
