Upscale lets traders scale by completing several challenges and holding several funded accounts at once. The combined notional of one user's funded accounts available for trading is capped at $400,000.
How the cap is counted
The cap is calculated from the starting balances of active funded accounts. Growth in balance from trading profit has no effect on it.
| Counted | Not counted |
|---|---|
| Active Basic funded accounts available for trading | Turbo accounts |
| Active Accelerated funded accounts available for trading | Demo accounts |
| Failed and cancelled accounts | |
| Paused accounts |
Valid combinations include: two accounts of $200,000; four of $100,000; one $200,000 plus two of $100,000; one $200,000, one $100,000 and two of $50,000.
What happens when an account reaches funded
When the next account moves to the funded stage, the platform adds its notional to the current combined total and checks the result.
| Check result | What happens |
|---|---|
| The total does not exceed $400,000 | Trading on the account is available immediately. Exactly $400,000 is allowed: with $300,000 in active accounts, a new $100,000 account goes through |
| The total exceeds $400,000 | The account still moves to funded, but trading is blocked and the account is marked "Paused". With $400,000 already active, a new $10,000 account reaches funded already paused |
If several accounts reach funded at almost the same moment, the one processed first becomes available for trading. A paused account is not lost — it waits for room to free up within the cap.
A paused account
An account marked "Funded | Paused" stays fully visible.
| Available | Blocked |
|---|---|
| Account progress and trading balance | Opening and increasing positions |
| Analytics | Creating limit orders |
| Certificates |
In the terminal the Long and Short buttons are inactive and a notice explains why. The trading day counter does not advance while an account is paused: after activation it resumes from the day of activation. On the dashboard the account carries a block explaining the rule.
Activating an account
The "Activate" button is available only if the current combined notional, together with this account's notional, fits within $400,000. The cap is recalculated when the button is pressed.
- Closing any funded account recalculates the cap and frees up room within it.
- If several accounts are paused, the trader chooses which one to activate first.
- The platform sends notifications both when an account is paused and when it is successfully activated.
The general rules of the funded stage — drawdown limits, profit days and the conditions for account closure — are on the Challenge & Trading Rules page.
