Funded Account Restoration

Breaching a limit on the funded stage does not always mean the challenge has to be taken again. For some Basic and Accelerated accounts the platform may offer restoration — a restart of the funded stage on the same account, keeping the trade history, past payouts, certificates and overall account statistics.

When restoration is available

Every condition has to be met at once:

  • the account belongs to Basic or Accelerated — demo accounts and Turbo cannot be restored;
  • the breach happened specifically on the funded stage;
  • no more than 48 hours have passed since the breach;
  • the account has passed the automatic algorithmic check;
  • there were no trading violations that rule out taking part in the programme.

When restoration is available, the offer appears on the account card by itself. There is no application to submit and no need to contact support. If the account was closed for any reason other than a limit breach, restoration is not available.

How the decision is made

After a breach, the system analyses the trading activity of the completed iteration. It weighs a combination of parameters describing the strategy, how it was executed and the account's risk profile, rather than any single figure. These may include:

  • consistency of results over a run of trades;
  • how profits and losses are distributed across trades;
  • the size of the risk taken and how it changed over time;
  • concentration of positions and of results;
  • the nature, depth and speed of the drawdown;
  • how steady the trading behaviour stayed after winning and losing trades;
  • how long trading lasted and how much data is available;
  • previous breaches and restorations;
  • the leverage used;
  • the risk-reward ratio;
  • compliance with platform rules.

What matters is how the trading unfolded, not the financial result it ended on. A payout can come from a consistent strategy or from a handful of concentrated, high-risk trades; equally, the absence of a payout does not in itself mean the trading was poor.

For that reason, past payouts are grounds neither for offering restoration nor for declining it. Account history is weighed as part of the overall risk profile, but no single factor guarantees or rules out restoration.

The decision is not a judgement on the trader. The algorithm determines whether one completed iteration matches the conditions of the programme for regaining funded access.

Choosing the restoration balance

The trader chooses the balance the account returns to the funded stage with.

Challenge typeAvailable restoration balance
Basicfrom 92% to 100% of the original balance
Acceleratedfrom 96% to 100% of the original balance

The closer the chosen balance is to the original, the more of the lost balance the platform restores and the higher the cost.

The minimum available balance has to match both the lower bound for its challenge type and a level at least 1% of the original balance above the maximum drawdown level. Whichever of the two is higher applies.

Worked example of the minimum balance

A Basic account with a starting balance of $100,000 and a maximum drawdown of $10,000. The breach level is $90,000, and a 1% buffer puts it at $91,000. The lower bound for Basic is 92% of the original balance, which is $92,000.

The higher of the two applies, so the minimum available restoration balance is $92,000.

Before payment the platform shows the balance after restoration, the remaining buffer to the maximum drawdown, the distance to the original starting balance, the amount above which new profit starts counting towards a payout, and the total cost. This makes it possible to weigh up the terms of the new iteration in advance.

Cost

Restoration is a paid option. The cost is calculated individually and shown before payment: the more of the lost balance has to be restored, the higher the price.

You can pick a lower balance and reduce the cost, but the account will then have less buffer before the maximum drawdown and a longer way back to the zone where new profit counts.

Payment uses the same methods as buying a challenge — the list is on the Account Setup page. Promo codes and discounts do not apply, and no referral rewards are paid on a restoration. Once payment goes through, the account returns to the funded stage automatically, with no need to take the challenge again.

The account after restoration

Restoration does not create a new account — the same one is restarted. Some data carries over, some starts from zero.

Payout conditions and limits are on the Withdrawal Rules page, and the drawdown limits are defined on the Challenge & Trading Rules page.

The AI Challenge Report continues to cover statistics across the whole life of the account, including previous funded iterations.

How it works step by step

  1. Analysis of the iteration

    After the breach, the system assesses the last funded iteration and the account's risk profile.

  2. An offer on the account card

    If the account matches the conditions of the programme, the offer appears automatically and stays valid for up to 48 hours from the breach. A reminder may arrive 12 hours before it expires.

  3. Choosing a balance and paying

    The trader selects an available restoration balance, and the platform shows the cost, the remaining buffer to the drawdown and the distance to the new profit zone.

  4. Return to the funded stage

    Once payment succeeds, the account returns to the funded stage automatically and is available on the dashboard again.

Records of both the restoration offer and the restoration itself appear in the Accounts section, on the History tab. The logic is identical in the mobile and desktop versions.
